Really glad we did this!
We wanted to see the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 memorial and debated just going on our own, but in the end decided on the tour that includes both sites as well as Ellis Island. What a great decision! Our guide, Marc Landman, is a true walking encyclopedia of everything to do with New York, beginning with a history of the subway as he guided us there. He explained everything about the routes, how to get through the turnstile - everything we, as rubes, needed to know to feel comfortable doing it again on our own. The nice thing about this tour is that there are ample opportunities to leave the group and go on your own. For instance, if you want to stay longer at the Statue of Liberty, the guide explains how to get to the next stop at your leisure. We were a little surprised that he did not take us to the 9/11 Memorial because it was listed as part of the tour. But when we got there (using his very detailed directions), we understood why - you don't need a guide there, just time to reflect on the magnitude of the tragedy. Marc made sure we knew how to get back to our next destination before leaving us. The description of the tour tells you that the tour ends at the last stop - you have to make your own way back to wherever you're going. Yet Marc willingly accompanied a woman and her grandson back to their hotel because she was nervous going it alone. Marc never stopped sharing information, about the Statue, Ellis Island, New York in general, and the Jets. We loved every minute of it and left feeling confident about our ability to navigate the city, as well as grateful for everything we learned and saw.
This is a letter of recommendation for Marc Landman, an independent NYC guide. We have had the fortune of contracting with Marc for services two years in a row when arranging a tour for a group from Norway.
Marc has demonstrated professionalism, knowledge of the area, flexibility, and enthusiasm in dealing with the groups assigned to him. He has also gone “above and beyond” in his customer service by accessing other services for us that required him to spend additional time and effort. He is very reliable and punctual in deadlines and arrivals.
Since our business is almost two thousand miles from where our guests arrive, it is great comfort to know that they are in Marc’s hands for the initial greeting and travel arrangements. We really appreciate his services and the opportunity to work with him.
Hello! My mom, sister and I took the Ground Zero/Lower Manhattan tour on Saturday September 4, 2010. Marc Landman was our tour guide. He did a fantastic job! He knows so much and was very interesting. We had a great time and learned so much. I’ve been the NYC many times, but I have never taken a tour, so we thought we would give it a try. I will definitely try other tours after this one. This was definitely a highlight of our trip and I can’t say enough how pleased we were with Marc as a tour guide. He was awesome!! Thanks
My family and I took the Ground Zero tour on Sat April 10 with Marc Landman. We enjoyed the tour very much. Marc knew his stuff, was able to answer all of our questions, and even gave other tidbits of interesting info not related to the specific tour we were on. There was an accident that routed car and foot traffic when we got to Ground Zero, but Marc kept walking us around until he found a spot where we could view it. When we visit NYC again in the future, will definitely look this site up for other tours.
My husband, John, and I returned yesterday from our trip to New York City. We learned much and had a truly enjoyable and enlightening experience thanks, in no small way, to your tour guide, Marc Landman. On Saturday, Marc was our guide for the Wall Street/Ground Zero tour. He is extremely knowledgeable with an encyclopedic attention to detail, cares very deeply about his City and does an outstanding job in all ways. Please convey to him again our thanks and appreciation.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. I must say we had the Best Tour Guide ever. Marc Landman was very informative and everyone gained much knowledge and insight. He Is The Best!!!!!!
I feel that someone that does their job so well deserves to be recognized--thus the reason for this letter.
Shortly after our visit in New York we boarded a Princess Cruise Ship and during this time we were very comfortable referring your company, and especially Marc, for this particular tour.
Beth, I want to say how pleased we were with EVERY aspect of our trip that was planned via NYCVP. The hotel was perfectly situated in the surroundings and was very nice, the free lunch at Planet Hollywood was great and the free dinner at the VIEW was amazing!
The Walking Tour of Ground Zero could not have been better. My husband is a firefighter and was very interested in this tour and our guide Marc Landman did an outstanding job! He gave so much information and insight through the whole tour. We had a very small group --which was very nice and were able to have that personal attention on the tour. We saw Mamma Mia and had incredible seats and enjoyed the show so much! Also the 2 day ticket for the sightseeing buses gave us a chance to see all of the sites we wanted. We will be looking forward to planning our next trip with you
Wonderful!
What a great evening! The tour guide Mark (I believe that's his name) was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Bus was very comfortable, and very spirited with the Christmas tunes. The tour took us to ALL the great homes and we were able to walk up close to see them, then run to the warm bus. Cannoli and hot chocolate at the end was perfect. HIGHLY recommend this tour company and this particular tour. SO well organized.
